BOOK A ZOOM EVENT

One thing Covid taught us was that we can meet in groups online. What a concept! We can bring the author to town through ZOOM for Book Clubs, Friends of the Library meetings, Issues meetings, and so much more. 

Choices and Secrets lends itself quite well to discussions because the topics covered in the book are as relevant today as they were in the late 60s. You may share the same experience and want to talk about it with someone who has been there done it and wears the t-shirt. 

Church groups may want to discuss the issues from a Christian perspective studying God's Word for His direction rather. Youth groups may want to attack these pertinent questions rather than leaving it up to the schools to educate our youth on these important topics. 

And then there are always Writers Groups who need an author published both in the traditional way and self-publishing to discuss writing and publishing today.

 Today is a big day for  Choices and Secrets . It goes live and will be available for purchase.  This novel was my first to write. It got put away for about 40 years. I pulled it out after the death of my husband. In going back and reading what I wrote, I realized how much of that time I had forgotten. The music, for example. The omnipresence of THE WAR meaning the Vietnam War, though it never really got declared a war. The reality for our young men that they could get called up and sent half a world away affected our thinking in a way I don't think WWII ever did.  Those who fought in WWII knew what they were fighting. I'm not sure with Vietnam we ever really understood.  When you read the novel, I hope it will spark memories for you as well that I hope you will email to me. WHEN DOES LIFE BEGIN?

  These are questions my characters had to consider as they made their own life-changing decisions. These are things I have grappled with in making my own decisions. These are my thoughts.  When does Life begin? Perhaps the answer is in the question. Life begins at the beginning. A sperm enters an egg and becomes one cell. All the information for what comes next is included there in that cell. Amazing, isn't it?  Somehow as that single cell divides, it takes with it the directions for becoming a nerve cell, a brain cell, a skin cell, and on and on and on until that simple single cell becomes the complex creature we know as a baby. From where does that direction come?  I think of Mickey Mouse in Fantasia and imagine the grand orchestration from the Creator creating that marvelous creation of His. LOVE'S LEGACY

 Love's Legacy was the title this novel started with fifty years ago. Love in all its forms leaves a lasting legacy. This is one of those stories.  Margaret and Cameron share a love story that defies time and place, war and peace, love and hate. The world changed between the end of World War II and the late sixties. A woman's role became more ambiguous. Women's liberation challenged the mores of the past. Like Margaret, Hayden's world was filled with judgement but with the Pill and the Vietnam War, right and wrong, life and death, became abstractions to be dealt with.
